Watch this YouTube video for an overview of the processes outlined below.

Note: Either airplane can be flown with either set of flight controls; if you are quickly switching back and forth between aircraft and do not want to swap flight controls, there is no requirement to do so.

Cessna to Cirrus

Step A: Remove the Cessna Yoke

  1. Disconnect the cable from the back of the yoke.
  2. While holding the yoke in place, un-latch the two red latches.
  3. Allow the yoke to pivot down and remove it.
  4. Place the yoke in a safe location.
  5. Flip the two red latches back up to avoid hitting them with your knees.

Step B: Remove the Cessna Throttle Quadrant
  1. Push all of the knobs all the way in.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the back of the throttle quadrant.
  3. Un-screw the two silver thumbscrews from the top of the throttle quadrant. They will spring out when all the way unscrewed, but will remain in place.
  4. While holding the bottom of the throttle quadrant, slide the entire unit toward you about 1 inch.
  5. Place the throttle quadrant in a safe location.

Step C: Install the Cirrus Throttle Quadrant
  1. Hang the throttle quadrant on the two black thumbscrews at the front right of the black TouchTrainer platform.
  2. Tighten the thumbscrews.
  3. Connect the cable at the back of the throttle quadrant to the Single B plug under the table.

Step D: Install the Joystick

  1. Make sure the two clamps are loose and can be moved freely. If not, loosen them with your fingers or the allen wrench.
  2. Connect the cable on the joystick to the plug in the left well in the black TouchTrainer platform. Note: Do NOT cut the tie-wrap holding the cable in place.
  3. Place the joystick in position and rotate the clamps so they are facing away from the center of the joystick.
  4. Tighten the screws gently with the allen wrench. Tighten them just enough to keep the joystick in place.

  2. Loosen the the two black thumbscrews holding the throttle quadrant, but do not remove them.
  3. Lift the throttle quadrant off the thumbscrews.
  4. Place the throttle quadrant in a safe location.
  5. Hand-tighten the thumbscrews so they do not fall out.

  4. Connect the cable at the back of the yoke to the Yoke A plug under the table.
